Taking care of your Sweet Gusto cakes
-
Holding your box the right way
Always hold underneath the boxes NOT the sides as they will collapse inwards (especially for cake boxes)
-
Transporting your cakes
We recommend placing the cake on a flat, level surface such as the foot of the car (never ON the seat) or the boot. If that isn’t possible, you can put it on your lap making sure to keep legs as level as possible however foot of the car is the best.
To prevent cakes/cupcakes from melting or softening too much make sure the car is as cold as you can handle (ensure this is done before the cake is being transported as it doesn't take long for cakes, especially buttercream and fresh cream ones, to melt)
-
Storing your cakes
Cakes containing fruit fillings (including fresh fruits, jams, curds) and dairy based sauces like caramel and ganache MUST be stored in the fridge when not being consumed.
When kept outside at room temperature (below 21 degrees) please keep your cakes away from direct sunlight - as long as there are none of fillings and sauces mentioned above present your cakes will keep for up to 2 ays stored in an airtight container.
When refrigerated your cakes will typically last 5-7 days. Most of our custom cakes have fresh whipped cream type fillings that are best consumed on the day of collection or next day at the latest.
For the best tasting and texture experience we always recommend you consume your works of buttercream art within 2 days.
