FAQs
Do you deliver?
Unfortunately, we do not offer delivery. All orders are collection only from our East Didsbury location.
Where are you based?
We are based in East Didsbury, Manchester, under a 10 minute walk from the Parrs Wood entertainment centre and about a 5 minute walk from Tesco Didsbury.
How do I place an order?
You can either fill in our contact form, email us directly or DM us on instagram to get in touch and get the ball rolling.
From here we can discuss your exact requirements after which you will be presented with a quote; if all of this is to your liking your order will be secured via a deposit or full payment depending on how far your date of collection is.
You can find full details under our 'terms & conditions' section.
What are your payment options?
At present payment for custom cake orders are only accepted via direct bank transfer. For flash sales (you can be informed of these by signing up with your email address in the footer) you also have the options of paying cash or by card in person when collecting. Please note any and all payments made are non-refundable as outlined in our ‘terms & conditions’.
Do you do fondant or character cakes?
Our cakes are buttercream only so unfortunately we are unable to offer fondant cakes. Due to this we do not offer character cakes however we can implement certain elements of character cakes to give it that ‘feel’. Stay tuned, we’re working on offering some buttercream cakes in the shapes of your favourite cuddly animals!
Do you have halal/vegan/vegetarian options?
Everything is halal (this has and always will be the case), and while most are also vegetarian some sprinkles used contain fish or halal gelatine, or other derivatives from such ingredients.
Splatters or anything that needs ‘painting’ are made with food grade 96% rejuvenator spirit, which is NOT the same as drinking alcohol, and dries completely within seconds to minutes. Alcohol based solvents such as lemon extract (most extracts contain alcohol) and vodka are commonly used to create pastes/liquids for splatters and some painting (metallic drips for example) but due to the much lower alcohol content of those solvents which would mean that some alcohol could potentially remain, we have opted for the option that allows for all of the alcohol to evaporate. However if this is something you do not feel comfortable with, we will advise you to avoid the aforementioned design elements.
None are currently vegan - we are working on this!
Do you make the fillings yourself and is anything organic and/or free range?
Indeed we do make our own fillings! If for whatever reason there are fillings we cannot make (biscoff spread for example) we aim to use the best quality brands. Wherever possible organic ingredients are used (we get our organic flour directly from Shipton Mill) and eggs are always organic & free range; french farm butters and farm milk are used almost exclusively. If you have questions about any specific ingredients please do get in touch, we’ll be happy to go through things with you.
Are you registered with the council, insured and hygiene rated?
We are registered with Manchester City Council, 5* hygiene rated and fully insured.
Do you cater to any food allergies like gluten free or nut free cakes?
Almost all our flavours are available in gluten free variations, but only for cakes (not cupcakes).
There is a caveat to this - due to the nature of us operating from a domestic kitchen it is impossible for us to avoid trace amounts of common food allergens possibly getting into our lovingly made cakes and cupcakes even with our 5* hygiene rating. If you or anyone who would be eating or be in direct contact with our cakes have a severe allergy whereby even the tiniest amount could cause an allergic reaction we’re afraid we will be unable to cater to this.
